Associations:

Although the Edelman Law Office and Ronald D. Edelman maintains responsibility for your case, some of our cases and client’s claims are referred to other attorneys for their principal responsibility. When you hire our firm, with your consent, we may associate with co-counsel outside of our law office. These other attorneys may be used or referral made depending on the nature of the accident, injury or venue or jurisdiction, or complexity of the issues involved in your claim or cause of action. It is not unusual that our firm regularly refers to other lawyers to associate with our firm on these involved cases. This is often based upon where the injury occurred or where the defendants are located or reside or complexity of the issues and theories of causation and type of action, for example products liability or medical malpractice, or vehicular enhancement cases, etc. In some cases, that may mean the other attorney or law office will take the lead in the prosecution of your case in conjunction with our office. Whenever this occurs, you will always be involved, approve the association and the contingency fee share arrangement with the other law firm. The original contingency fee will never be increased to you. In fact, we reduce our portion of the fee to share with the associated attorney so that your interests and potential recovery will be better served. In effect you get two attorneys for the one contingency fee. We do this regularly when the best interests of the client are served in our opinion.
